Making A Purchase: Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on ‘Checkout’ and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept card payments. If you are shopping from anywhere but the UK, you can still order but we can only deliver within the UK

We accept Major Credit and Debit cards and Paypal. If you do not wish to pay online, you are welcome to telephone us with your card details or send a cheque made payable to NORFOLK HERBS.

If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling: Plant orders and large plug orders are sent out using a 24 hour carrier. Small plug orders are sent using Royal Mail First class.

Deliveries by carrier are sent as ‘Signature Optional’. This does not require you to be at home for the delivery. However, it is important to type delivery instructions when you reach the checkout telling us and the carrier of a safe place to leave the plants.

We endeavour to send out orders within a few days (often less) of ordering during non peak times but during peak times (like with any other nursery), we will have a longer turn around. Please see our delivery page for shedules and from there, an explanation of why. norfolkherbs.co.uk/delivery

Delivery dispatch days-
We send plants Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs. We do not send out on a Friday unless you choose the Saturday delivery option. When you receive your order dispatch notification, you can usually expect the plants to arrive the following day.

Specific delivery times-
We can time your delivery to arrive on a specific day (with exception of Sunday and Monday). This is ideal if you are buying a gift.

Packaging

Plants are sent out in strong bespoke packaging which is made from recycled materials. Please re-use or recycle the packaging.

Delivery problems

Thankfully delivery problems are very rare but if you have any problems with your delivery please let us know straight away so we can sort the issue out. Please see further details in these Terms and Conditions

Delivery Pricing can be found here

Back Orders: We grow plants on the nursery so they are not ordered in. Therefore, all items shown as in stock should be on the nursery ready to send. However, we are open to the public and we do send plants out Wholesale. Therefore, if you do wish to order a lot of one item, it may be an idea to email us first.

If we do make an error with stock control, we will always arrange something with you – thankfully this very rarely happens!

Tax Charges: Herb Plants and Herb Plug Plants which are not predominately culinary plants attract VATt at the standard rate (20%). This has been included in the price of your plants where applicable but will be shown, for tax purposes, in detail on the checkout page and invoice.

Bay Trees grown in pots smaller than 3L are also classed as zero-rated culinary plants. Larger specimens are considered decorative plants and are therefore subject to VAT

Credit Card Security: We use a choice of Payment Service Providers (PSPs), SagePay and PayPal. These are by far the most safe way of capturing payments. No Credit Card details are saved on any of our systems. The only information we see is your order details which comprise of the herbs chosen and your contact details.

We are ourselves PCI-DSS Compliant

Guarantee: We wish to provide customers with quality plants and service. Every effort will be made to ensure that plants are true to name and in perfect condition when leaving the nursery. Please examine your delivery carefully and report any problems by telephone within 24hours, followed by a letter within seven days. Our liability for plants supplied is limited, at our option, to the replacement of those plants or a refund of the price paid. We regret that we cannot accept liabilty beyond 24 hours from delivery date for plants that fail to thrive due to unsuitable care, neglect, adverse weather conditions or other causes beyond our control. Please view the returns policy details

Flowering herbs: During the year, flowering plants are trimmed to make for a healthy plant. Sometimes this is done after flowering and sometimes during, to make a plant sturdier for a healthier transition to the garden or to make it easier to transport. Example: A flowering Salvia is often trimmed back in Auguest, September due to 1. to make a stocky plant to get through the winter and 2. makes it possible to pack in a box. If you are purchasing plants for immediate flower (wedding or photo-shoot especially later in the season) please contact us first.
Some perennial plants may not flower in their first year. Examples include seed grown perennials which have germinated in the late spring and summer may not flower to the next season and also Lavender plants that should be discouraged from first season flowering.

Photographs: We try and give an accurate pictorial representation of and where possible, how the plant will look once established. We do try and avoid product photos showing potted plants plants as this changes throughout the year. We tend to give an example image showing the pot size. If you require photos of the plants of how they will look at the time of order, do not hesitate to ask.

Plant descriptions and labeling: All plant descriptions are our own with the exception of a minority of labels. Height guides etc are given as an average for UK conditions after much research and own experience. Soil type, aspect, pH etc will effect the growth habit.

Peat: We now gorw on our plants in Peat Free compost
